Karel Hartmann

Dr. Karel Hartmann (July 6, 1885 – c. October 16, 1944) was a Czechoslovakian ice hockey player who competed in the Olympic games in 1920. He was a member of the national team that won the bronze medal in Antwerp.〔(Karel Hartmann's databaseOlympics Profile )〕 In 1922, he succeeded Paul Loicq as vice-president of the International Ice Hockey Federation.〔(History of the IIHF 1914-1933 )〕 On October 16, 1944, Hartmann and his wife were shipped to Auschwitz concentration camp where they were probably put to death on the same day.〔(Karel Hartmann's Sports Reference )〕
